Hear ya, hear ya,

Arcana is under the protection of the Ivory Tower. Step on the wild
continent without proper autherization documents, and You might loose
a leg, a hand, or a head.

For the IVORY TOWER,

The Red Company have two nobles prisoner who profess loyalty
to Clan Yamato. If anyone would like to ransom them or buy them
off us, please get in touch. We can also arrange to have them
permanently imprisoned if that is what you prefer.

Some turns ago our peaceful Ebesis Alliance was heinously and unprovokedly
attacked by two clans, and this turn yet another clan from the same empire
has joined in - "clan Tengoku".

When contacting Emperor Asuka about this violation of all diplomatic
protocol I received the following message in reply:

Hail Ebesians
It seems several of my warlords wanted a practice run before the attacks
start hitting us. So my warlords are practicing their coordination skills.
You just happen to be in a convienent location. So defend youselfs well
and run for the hills. They will be leaving after a few turns.
Emperor Asuka

If your warlords wanted a "practice run" wouldn't it have been somewhat
more "practical" to attack someone who could give you a real test of your
skills, rather than going for the one alliance who has declared itself to
have peaceful intents? To further diminish the value of your "practice"
you attacked us completely without warning with about 1000 fighters and
10 nobles, catching us by surprise and totally unprepared for such a
ferocious onslaught!

It remains to be seen whether the performers of your "practice run" will
follow your command and "be leaving after a few turns", Emperor Asuka. If
not, you either have a mutiny on your hands, or else your word isn't
worth even half a sen!

Kotooshu, diplomatic envoy for the Ebesis Alliance.

Amene is the property of the SOCRATES Alliance. Please contact us
if you wish to trade. Exploration or resource gathering are not
allowed. There have been unfortunate incidents in the past, we wish
to avoid further unpleasantness if possible.

For SOCRATES...

SOCRATES decries the unprovoked attack on Shallowdam by the infamous
Red Company. All unprincipled mercenaries and swords for hire should
be very clear than their presence is not welcome on Amene under any
circumstances and any violations of this decree will be met with
immediate and overwhelming force.

To assist with the removal of these vermin from the gaze of Great
Atnerks, the New World Order offers a reward of 1,000 gold for any
verified head of a member of the notorious Red Company.

For SOCRATES...

This ONN at Ten, the special report --

We regret to inform that the special report on booming
Albea sea routes has been delayed due to the loss of
our trade correspondent to a poisenous sea snake in
his seeweed salad.

So, alternative headlines then..

While many a speculation are tossed over pitchers
filled with ale regarding the expiring countdown and
it's consequnces to the world, well informed sources say
that a great force in the north is brewing a new
megalomaniac plan on how to be a pest to the torus of
Olympia. Experts argue that this is all not true, however,
and the countdown just marks the beginning of the ritual
castrations on Asur. Others argue that it is circumcissions
that are clearly indicated by the half-step in the countdown.

And more..

The xenophobic scholars of the Ivory Tower seem to focus
on the consolidation of their recent land aquisitions. Informants
claim that the Tower is now in direct control of over 80% of the
numerous cities on Arcana.
A notable exception is a wild pirate haven on the south coast.
Why the pirates are tolerated to build up their nest is unclear
to this news agency, but whatever the reason might be, no good
can come from it.

And more..

Meanwhile, on northern Albea, west of the Clearhaven area,
the defenders of castle Vaxjo have chosen to retreat
from possible onslaught from a powerful host of the Orcs
of Carisos, buying precious time for the retreat of their
forces southwards with a tricky magical barrier.
What would the Orcs want in the vicinity of Clearhaven
other than blood - after all, it seems, the second try
to oblitarate the regional stronghold has been a success:
It is said the the castle is in ruins, with only the towers
remaining. What is the true plan of vicious horde and it's dark
minions? Can their killing spree be stopped? Or will secret
negotiations bring this senseless war to an end, giving the
Free Lords of Clearhaven their badly needed time to regroup.

On a sidenote..

ONN regretfully reports that it's local correspondent to the
center island, Zabou Lipperbox, has been killed by sneaky
assassins hired by a so called "Ancient Order" - and all that
before he could finish his report on the oppression of
the local populace by the beforementioned cult - a sinister
organizaton that is suspected to stand in connection to a
waffle smuggling mafia syndicate. ONN will bring a new reporter
to the center island, and will not give up in uncovering the
sinister plot that may very well decide the future of Olympia.
The so called Eldorado of the Golden City is a farce.

And last..

Further south, the plotting kraut-eaters have started
to bring their sausage mashines into motion. It is feared
that olympian markets will be flooded with cheap stinky
meat. Other than that, no krautish contribution to daily
olympian life has been registered. This redaction agrees that
the heirs of Eressea are rightly christened after the
stinking vegetable.

Remember..

This news network does only take information from
first class sources and live witnesses..

Finally..

This was ONN at Ten Special Report - check in for more
information on the northern wars with our regular news line,
interesting speculations about what happened to the colonist
of Ebor and Itona, and who actually is in control of the new
mysterious Duchy of North Albea - war puppet of SOCRATES,
or military dictatorship in the iron hands of the Red God and
it's company -- or both? What is the ambition of those that call
themselves 'Dragon Blood', what are the true plans of the evil
witch of Ugul, and what is the secret behind the successful
savage prison camps? On the bright side: Dr. Pain's Personal Musli
recipe!

This was ONN.

This is ONN with all the news from across the lands.

It seems the raid on Utovia at Shadowdam may have been
ordered by the Ebesis Alliance in retaliation for the
unprovoked attack on Ebesis. The fact that the casualties were
all belonging to Clan Yamato is deemed significant by
analysts.

There is widespread disgust amongst the nobles around the
Albea Sea at the continuing situation in the Duchy of Belem.
It seems the old Duke was killed during the early stages of the
Orc-Clearhaven War but has yet to be replaced as ruler. "A decent
period of mourning is respectful but some are saying Belem has
become a Necromocacy and really who wants one of those next door?"
said one high placed noble who asked not to be named.

Tune in at 10 when we have special report on Land Claims:
The lord next door has claimed all the good provinces,
What's your next move? Diplomacy or Dragons?

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

I will sing the song of the man of battle, the man of battle.
I will sing of the lord with the very black beard, the man of battle
His pugnacious mouth is a dragon's maw; his face is a lion's grimace.
When he looks at someone, it is the look of death

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Hmmm..., if the ONN is to be believed, Clan Yamato got what
they deserved. The timing is interesting, though. One wonders
who paid the Red Company to pay them a visit just as they were
making a surprise attack of their own on the self declared
"Peaceful Ebesis Alliance."

Maybe the Vulture knows... Or the Shadow Alliance...

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Hey there tourists,

So you don't want to visit Arcana?
Maybe Amene can interest you?
It is located north west of Albea.
Some powerful alliance called Socrates
makes its home there and although they
speak harsh words they are actually not
that though.

I would recommend traveling there by ship
from Culwin, although you could also sail
there from Feynesse.

Amene is also known as the castle island.
There are so many castles on Amene, that
I can't even recall all of them, some are
huge and others are just ruins at present.
Some were built to protect Amene's vast trading
interests like the one in the coastal city of
Blackadder. Others have been built to
allow the locals to seek refuge in case of an
invasion like the one in the mountain city Darkwind.
The most beautiful castle I would say is the
one in Mossbloom, hidden behind some coastal jungle,
but well worth a detour.

So if you're a huge fan of imposing castles,
piles of stone, abandoned towers and fascinating
churches you should definitely visit Amene.
